Ms. Safaei's father, known as "Haj Safaei", was one of the well-known merchants in Tehran, who was executed in 1981 on charges of supporting the People's Mojahedin Organization. Her husband, Ebrahim Saidi, who was a telecommunications employee, was also executed in 1984.
